1099-NEC Nonemployee Compensation Form

IMPORTANT: New 1099-MISC / 1099-NEC Requirements!

More than 70% of filers in 2019 reported nonemployee compensation in Box 7 of form 1099-MISC. This year, the IRS is requiring those filers to use form 1099-NEC instead of 1099-MISC. If you need to report nonemployee compensation for the 2020 tax year, you will need to use this form.

Note the IRS has accelerated the due date for filing Form 1099 that includes nonemployee compensation (NEC) from February 28 to February 1.
